Luisão’s departure from Benfica is still a big story in Portugal, but after all the buzz created by the Wolverhampton move, it seems that this destination isn’t so certain anymore.

Record reports in their Wednesday edition that Wolves are still leading the race, but the defender now has several options on the table.

Luisão reportedly agreed that despite leaving the Portuguese club, he will still receive compensation for the year of contract he has left.

Of course Benfica aren’t obligated to do that, but they’d accept it to reward him for everything he’s achieved for the club.

Luisão also has a verbal deal with the president Luis Filipe Vieira meaning he’ll get a club role after he retires.

Wolverhampton’s offer of €2m net per season is still to be accepted by the Brazilian, even after so many claims from Portugal said everything was already done.

According to Record’s Benfica section on Thursday, the move could be sorted this weekend.
