Wolverhampton Wanderers are considering the signing of Diego Costa, according to reports from the Brazilian media.

UOL writes that Wolves are currently ‘studying’ the possibility of offering him a contract, currently making a ‘more detailed evaluation’, ‘especially from the financial point of view’.

Diego Costa is currently a free agent, and hasn’t played since January, when his contract with Atletico Madrid was terminated.  It’s said that he sees a move to the Premier League ‘with good eyes’.

Besides Wolves, the likes of Benfica, Al Nassr and Besiktas are said to be interested in the signing of the striker as well.

Diego Costa has been linked to Wolves since his agent Jorge Mendes started having a closer relationship with the club.

Therefore, this is a rumour which has been around for a few years, and never seemed strong enough for a move to look close to happening.

In his last season for Atletico Madrid, the striker could only feature in seven matches before his contract was terminated, and we wonder if money is the only issue that the Molineux side are analysing before making a move for him.
