We’ve covered multiple claims this summer regarding about Wolverhampton Wanderers interest in Porto defender David Carmo. If they intend to move for the 25-year-old, Wolves will have to wait for some more days.

A previous report Record had mentioned that Carmo was seen as a potential replacement for Max Kilman by Wolves, who had positioned themselves for an approach.

Record have issued an update about the race for the defender, stating that Porto are not looking to negotiate any sales until they play against Sporting in their Portuguese Super Cup final on the 3rd of August.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are still ‘lurking’ around for Carmo, but no progress will be made until after Saturday. In fact, Porto will not sell any players before that day unless a potential suitor triggers a release clause.

Porto simply do not want to be weakened before the final against a rival and club president Andre Villas-Boas sees it as a big deal for the start his tenure. Carmo is a key player for new manager Vitor Bruno and selling him will not be considered – for now.
