Ronald Araújo continues to be linked with other clubs as there is still no clarity over his contract situation at Barcelona.
The defender’s current deal runs down in 2023 and he’s attracting interest from Manchester United. Earlier this month, journalist Dario Montero told El Chiringuito the Red Devils are willing to offer a deal worth €10m per year to the Uruguay international.
On February 9th, Sport stated the centre-back is a ‘desirable player’ for the Old Trafford club.
Xavier Hernández’s side have so far not managed in securing Araújo’s long-term future and their task has been made ‘complicated’, according to Marca. That’s because the South American has a ‘very strong offer’ from Manchester United, as well as interest from other clubs.
Xavi’s side, for their part, are clear it is essential to improve his contract and wages.
Araújo is aware there will be talks between his agent and the Spanish giants soon, while there are ‘important clubs’ who are ‘following him closely’. One among them is United.
