With many players having their contracts expired in the summer, Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola now released a video talking about those who could have a chance to land in the South American country at the end of the season.

One of these footballers is Fernandinho, who is currently enjoying his final weeks of contract with Manchester City.

The midfielder captained Pep Guardiola’s side in the 2-0 win over Paris Saint Germain on Tuesday, and has been playing on a level which makes it clear he could continue being part of the squad.

Nicola, however, claims ‘there will not be a contract renewal’, and the 36-year-old should walk for free at the end of the season.

It’s claimed that although it’s ‘natural’ that Fernandinho will receive offers to stay in Europe, he’s actually been showing signs that he wants to return to Brazil.

Nicola adds that Athletico Paranaense could have an ‘advantage’ as they are his former club.

Fernandinho has 33 appearances for Manchester City this season, but even though he’s been in great form, his age doesn’t allow him to start every game anymore.
