Lorenzo Lucca’s transfer to Nottingham Forest hasn’t worked out as hoped for. There are now suggestions that the deal was part of a wider plan.

The Italian arrived at the City Ground on loan from Napoli, with a buying option.

Lucca scored on his Nottingham Forest debut but has fallen out of favour since. He’s played only four times in the Premier League, with injuries also ruining his initial progress.

There are accusations that Lucca’s move to England is part of a larger chain.

Corona details situation

Fabrizio Corona, who was the chief whistleblower behind the Sandro Tonali betting scandal in Italy, has now made some more claims.

He spoke on his Falsissimo podcast about Lorenzo Lucca’s agent.

Corona said – relayed by CalcioNapoli24: “Two of my friends from Inter, Carlos Augusto and Frattesi, had other agents when they arrived at Galliani’s Monza. Galliani passed them on to Riso, and where did Riso sell them? To Inter.”

Speaking about how Lucca’s move to Nottingham Forest could be part of this, Corona said:

“Who profits? Riso and Galliani. Closing the discussion on Riso’s agent, as a final tidbit, Lucca was bought by Conte’s Napoli. Riso, this time again with Lina Souloukou, because she’s a friend of the Olympiacos president, who is also the president of Nottingham, was sent there. Lucca, who played three games at Nottingham Forest.”

Common patterns not a surprise

Corona tries to present the relations as being the reason for the transfers. It is a trend witnessed across the game in Italy for decades now.

Even if Corona finds that wrong, deals being dictated by influence is nothing new.
