West Ham United could be an option for Nicolò Zaniolo in the summer, according to a surprise claim from Calciomercato.it.
The Galatasaray player is currently on loan at Aston Villa and has struggled for regular game time this season. Earlier this week, the 24-year-old opened the door to return to Italy.
Since then, the Italy international has been linked with a move to Fiorentina and claims have also stated he was offered to Inter Milan. West Ham are now added to this list.
For now, Fiorentina and AC Milan remain in the background, and they all have to agree a deal with the Turkish club, if they wish to sign Zaniolo. Galatasaray are keen to get rid of him, either through a sale or loan with an obligation to buy.
Calciomercato.it say one must also pay attention to the Premier League, where West Ham are named as a candidate.
It’s claimed David Moyes’ side ‘enjoy excellent relations’ with Zaniolo’s representatives, without providing any further explanation as to how the Hammers have great ties with his camp.
However, they do state a move to West Ham will see him meet his compatriots, Angelo Ogbonna and Emerson Palmieri.
