On Monday, ABC Sevilla reported Real Betis are convinced West Ham United will make an offer to sign Luiz Felipe after the Premier League side made progress to outline a deal with the player.
The La Liga side are ready to sell the defender in this window but haven’t received a written offer from the Hammers so far.
That’s according to ElDesmarque, who say West Ham should have taken this step ‘days ago’ after they ‘promised’ his agent they’d make an offer.
The 26-year-old’s agent had conveyed the same to Real Betis sporting director Ramón Planes. Since then, the situation hasn’t changed much and the deal has been on track to take the Brazilian to West Ham for €20m.
Felipe is open to joining David Moyes’ side as it would allow him to improve his salary. Sources close to the centre-back have told ElDesmarque that they are optimistic the deal will go through.
Although ‘everything was practically agreed’ for the player to join the Europa Conference League winners, they are yet to take a definitive step and send a written offer to the Spanish club. The outlet says the delay from West Ham ‘begins to bother’ Real Betis.
West Ham, for their part, aren’t in a hurry because of alternatives available in the market.
