Despite the hundreds of rumours coming from Spain we’ve covered this summer, we haven’t really seen Premier League sides getting linked to Sevilla’s Sergi Gomez.
And it turns out that only now, after the English transfer window is closed, the likes of Watford and West Ham turn up in a story about him and Sevilla’s inability to get rid.
Outlet El Desmarque published an article about all the players who could still be leaving Sevilla until the end of the summer, and state the latest club to get linked to Gomez are CSKA Moscow, who have been negotiating a loan with an option to buy.
Then El Desmarque writes that the Atalanta, who are playing in the Champions League this year, West Ham and Watford were all interested as well, but the player ‘didn’t see clearly’ a move to those clubs, perhaps wanting to stay in Spain rather than try a move abroad.
Now in case the CSKA move doesn’t get through, we wonder if Gomez would remain an option for the Hammers or the Hornets in the next window if his choices become more and more limited.
