Originally set to join Inter Milan, Lazar Samardzic from Udinese to the San Siro side remains incomplete, giving West Ham United the perfect chance to do something.
The Hammers have been linked with the Serbia international for a while now, and they were even touted as being competition for the Serie A giants.
However, no move was ever made, but that didn’t stop the transfer from slowly collapsing, which, as hinted at by Corriere dello Sport, gives West Ham a new chance to get the 21-year-old.
They recall how Samardzic had even passed his medical tests, but the negotiation continues between the two clubs, at a snail’s pace, and is heading towards a ‘dangerous ridge’.
This is reportedly due to the player’s father making ‘more substantial requests both on commissions and wages’, but Inter have ‘no intention of taking further steps’.
Meanwhile, West Ham are ‘observing, interested’, but have yet to make an official move.
Udinese are also starting to get annoyed, with an ‘irritation at a sudden change of plans’ given that Serie A is about to kick off.
That means that if Inter don’t budge, there is a door swinging wide open for West Ham, which they need to capitalise on if they want to get Samardzic through their stadium gates.
