On Sunday, Corriere dello Sport reported interest from Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle United in Parma defender Giovanni Leoni.
The newspaper claimed that while the teenager is keen on a move to Inter Milan, the Nerazzurri are focusing their transfer efforts on Ademola Lookman and this is causing a delay in an approach for Leoni.
Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport adds West Ham to the race for the 18-year-old.
They report that while Inter have ‘reserved’ the centre-back, they will need funds from sales to finally seal a move for him, once a transfer for Lookman is done.
Leoni is getting impatient and that is why interest from West Ham, Liverpool, Tottenham and Juventus is presented as a warning to Cristian Chivu’s side.
Parma want €35m to sell the youngster and the idea of a sale to other clubs is put forward quite strongly, especially if Inter take too much time.
There’s every chance West Ham and the other clubs are simply being used as names to pressure Inter Milan to hurry.
