West Ham United have identified Flamengo’s Pedro as a target for the summer window.
The striker has starred for his side in 2022, managing 29 goals and 10 assists from 59 matches in all competitions. He’s extended his fine form this year, scoring nine goals and registering two assists from seven matches.
Pedro’s impressive displays helped him represent Brazil at the World Cup and also ‘aroused the interest’ of West Ham United.
That’s according to Fichajes.net, who state the Hammers ‘want to sign’ the 25-year-old to bolster their attack next season.
Pedro joined Fiorentina in the summer of 2019 but struggled to have prominence at the Serie A side. This saw him return to Brazil in January 2020, when Flamengo signed him initially on loan and then made his stay permanent later that year.
He could return to Europe in the summer as David Moyes’ side appear to be leading the race to sign the player.
Last month, the Brazil international signed a new deal until 2027 and is currently valued at €20m. West Ham are aware it won’t be easy for them to sign Pedro because Flamego’s asking price would ‘certainly almost exceed’ €40m, meaning the price is double his valuation.
