West Ham United are eyeing a move for Werder Bremen star Niclas Füllkrug this summer after his impressive campaign this year.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say ‘Germany’s most prolific striker’ could be on his way to the Premier League.
They explain that Füllkrug extended his contract with Werder until 2025 last summer, but whether he will see that out is ‘questionable’ to say the least.
With 15 goals to his name this season the international striker is the Bundesliga’s current top scorer and clubs from the Premier League are already ‘eyeing him’.
West Ham are among those who are keen but would have to pay ‘at least €15m’ if they wish to secure his signature in the summer.
Everton were also among the interested parties in the January transfer window.
Whether Füllkrug would be interested in a switch isn’t mentioned, but the Hammers are likely to be on the hunt for offensive reinforcements in the summer if they stay up.
They signed Danny Ings in January but look set to sell Gianluca Scamacca at the end of the season, while Michail Antonio has continued to be troubled by injury problems throughout the campaign.
That appears to have set West Ham to look around on the market and 15-goal Füllkrug is someone they have seemingly picked up on, according to SportBILD.
