As AS Roma keep up with their efforts to take Gianluca Scamacca away from West Ham United, we see some updates on this chase coming out from the Italian media.
Outlet Roma Giallorossa claims club director Tiago Pinto continues to work with the Hammers to ‘unblock’ the situation.
This time, it’s claimed that for West Ham to accept Scamacca’s departure, they want to ‘find a replacement’ before agreeing the deal.
As for the negotiations, Roma’s first option was for a loan with a right to buy. Since the striker wants to make the move, that’s an advantage the Giallorossi are using on their side.
Roma believe that scenario could end up being good for West Ham as well, as Scamacca could end up having a good season in Italy and, therefore, see his price go up.
Now if the Hammers want the centre-forward gone to replace him with another name, they better hurry a little. The report claims Roma are already looking at other targets, with the likes of Alavaro Morata and Mauro Icardi joining their list as well.
The report is obviously heavily weighted to favour Roma, with West Ham knowing there’s also interest from elsewhere.
