West Ham United want to sign AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham before the summer window closes.
The Hammers have already signed German striker Niclas Füllkrug earlier this month. They seem to be still looking to bring in another player in the same position.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who state West Ham are ‘very interested’ in Abraham.
A serious knee injury forced him to miss most of last season. The player’s high salary has become a concern for the Serie A side’s new leaders. Therefore, they want to part ways with the England international.
Juventus and AC Milan have also shown interest in the former Chelsea man but haven’t made progress after making initial contact.
Foot Mercato say the 26-year-old could be ‘heading towards’ the Premier League, where West Ham are keen on securing his services. They add Roma want to recover most part of the €41m fee they invested to buy him, without mentioning their request.
Last weekend, Gazzetta dello Sport talked about the possibility of the frontman joining the London club. They had also stated West Ham would need around €25m to sign him.
