Sporx have reported on the latest developments regarding the future of Wilfried Zaha at Galatasaray, following claims he could be offloaded this summer.
Zaha only joined the Turkish champions last summer but struggled to get games during their title run in. This has led to reports of a return to the Premier League, with West Ham United said to be interested.
The Turkish media outlet have reported on West Ham’s pursuit of Zaha, and they say the Premier League side still want to add the former Crystal Palace player to their squad.
However, there could be a stumbling block as the Hammers are unwilling to pay a transfer fee for the 31-year-old due to his wage demands.
It’s claimed Galatasaray haven’t taken kindly to this, but find themselves in a difficult position. The Istanbul club have been linked with a number of high-profile players in recent weeks and they are keen to get Zaha off their wage bill.
This could play into West Ham’s hands in the coming weeks as they look for a free transfer.
Zaha made 42 appearances for the Istanbul side last season, scoring 10 goals. He’s contracted to the club until June 2026.
