It may be time for West Ham United to move on from Jean-Clear Todibo and look at other options for defensive additions this summer.
Friday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport reports the Hammer’s offer for the player has been frozen because he’s not interested in the London club right now.
Instead, the Nice player is said to want to join a ‘great team’ and believes he can get that opportunity with Juventus.
According to the Italian newspaper, West Ham have been prepared to pay €37m for Todibo, an amount which would please the Ligue 1 side.
Juventus wouldn’t go near such a figure and would instead wish to make up a chunk of any fee by sending young players to Nice as part payment.
Todibo is said to have come to an agreement on personal terms and is waiting for Juventus and Nice to reach common ground on the transfer fee.
Of course, West Ham could hang around and see if Nice put their foot down, in the way Lille have done with Leny Yoro. However if Todibo truly doesn’t want to player for the Hammers then there are subsequently better options out there for the London club.
