Ecuadorian star Enner Valencia could be leaving West Ham this summer, after he spent a lot of last season on the bench. At least that’s the theory and it’s good enough for the Turkish media.
West Ham are actively searching for a prolific striker in the transfer market, which would put further pressure on Valencia and probably limit his appearances further.
A report from Turkish website Yeni Safak suggests Trabzonspor could be interested in signing Valencia. Trabzonspor, however, would only want Valencia on loan with the option to buy him at the end of next season.
It remains to be seen if West Ham would be interested in allowing the 26-year-old to leave on loan, and they may wait till the end of the transfer window and assess their options then.
Valencia managed 6 goals and 3 assists to his name last season in just over 1300 minutes of football, and has another three years left on his current deal at West Ham.
Turkish websites have been making the most of the transfer window this summer, and it’s hard to see what kind of benefit there is for West Ham in sending a 26 year on loan. It would be more likely if it were a loan with a compulsory redemption clause, which is basically a straight transfer wrapped up differently.
