West Ham United’s bid for Youssef En-Nesyri was €33m plus €5m in bonuses, according to Sevilla president Pepe Castro.
The Hammers have been heavily linked with a move for En-Nesyri this season, with them keen to add a striker to their squad after selling Sebastien Haller to Ajax earlier this month.
Reports in Spain indicated that they had seen a €30m offer rejected for the striker, who currently leads the goalscoring charts in La Liga.
Despite a lack of interest from Sevilla and En-Nesyri in the move, it was believed that had not deterred West Ham, who were willing to go as high as €40m for the forward.
Indeed, some reports suggested they had already made such a bid, and that could tempt Sevilla, particularly director of football Monchi, into a sale.
It seems those reports were wide of the mark, though, with Castro revealing the details of West Ham’s bid to COPE today.
“There has been interest from some English teams for En-Nesyri, but the truth is that we had no intention of selling,” he said.
“The player himself has also said publicly that he is delighted to be here and wants to continue to grow at Sevilla, which he has also done.
“(We received) an offer of €33m plus €5m as far as I know and then the truth is that there was no other offer that I know of.
“It is true that the player himself said clearly that he was not going to leave here and we are delighted.”
