Right at the end of the summer transfer window, a flurry of reports came from Italy about West Ham being a possible destination for Filip Kostic.

It was stated the Hammers were at the front of the queue to sign the Juventus player, and had more interest than others. A lack of time left in the window was seen as the biggest problem, and the Turin club were willing to help a deal go through.

In reality, whilst there may have been some level of interest from David Moyes’ side, the bigger interest appeared to come from Juventus and parting ways with the player.

His situation hasn’t improved much since, with Il Bianconero reporting that whilst the player wasn’t being forced out of the door, his exit was seen as a positive for ‘budgetary reasons’.

They state a transfer to West Ham was ‘much more than a simple suggestion’, trying to make it sound concrete.

Kostic is, according to the report, in danger of losing his place at Juventus, and needs to stop making his game so predictable.

Given there’s doubt around him, and that he was a potential exit in the summer, then January is likely to see further claims, and a potential call to West Ham to try and revive any interest.
