West Ham United goalkeeper Mads Hermansen has received a pretty big boost this week; he’s become a father.

Ekstra Bladet cover the situation today, explaining the West Ham summer signing has become a father for the first time.

That’s seen as a boost and a welcome relief for the goalkeeper, who has had a difficult time since his arrival at the London Stadium in the summer transfer window. He’s currently been replaced by Alphonse Areola after starting the season as number one.

He was on the bench for the second game in a row on Monday as West Ham drew with Everton. Fortunately, he has a lot to celebrate off the pitch.

The 25-year-old has become a parent for the first time. He revealed this with his partner, Sofie Rosenkilde Damgaard, on Instagram. They’re yet to reveal the gender, but previous posts have indicated they’ve had a son.

And that isn’t the only positive news this week. The West Ham keeper has been named in Briain Riemer’s Denmark squad. They’re due to meet next week for World Cup qualifying.
