West Ham United’s hopes of signing Axel Disasi from Chelsea have been handed a boost. The defender wants to remain in London this month.
That’s according to Gianluca di Marzio. The journalist reports that Disasi has turned down interest from Italy because of his London desires.
Di Marzio reports that Fiorentina’s deal for Disasi has stalled. They’re searching for a central defender before deadline day. Disasi was a ‘strong name’ on their list.
But the deal is stalled because the defender is yet to show any openness to the move. The Frenchman would prefer to stay in the Premier League. Specifically, he’d like to stay in London.
That opens the door for West Ham to get their man. They can at least offer him the chance to remain in the Premier League and London.
Reports have linked them with a move throughout this month. But they have picked up in the last few days.
A report on the 27th stated that they were seeking a deadline day move for the Chelsea defender. A second report on the 28th then stated that they had the upper hand on the competition for the defender’s signature.
Then came a report today stating that the next few hours were key to the move. The feeling was that the Hammers could race away from the likes of Fiorentina.
Perhaps that is coming from the defender’s desire to remain in the Premier League and London. They would, on the face of it at least, seemingly give them the upper hand.
