After wanting to sign him during the January transfer window, West Ham United now know how much Djibril Sow will cost them this summer.
That’s according to Sport Bild in Germany, who have an article following claims in England that the Hammers are still looking at the 26-year-old.
It’s recalled that West Ham wanted the Eintracht Frankfurt star over the winter, but they faced a rejection from the director of football Markus Krösche, but the next few months will be different.
The outlet states that the Bundesliga side ‘would be willing to talk for a fee of €20m’ despite the player’s release clause being €30m.
That’s because he only has one year of contract left, so it would be ‘unrealistic’ for them to ask for that much.
They then add that West Ham were joined by Newcastle and Nottingham Forest last summer in wanting to sign him last summer, but the player ‘decided against moving’ to the Premier League because he ‘really wanted’ to play in the Champions League this year.
Now, though, he ‘wants to go to England’, which certainly works in favour of the Hammers.
