On August 5th, RMC Sport reported Fulham and West Ham United have joined Chelsea in the race to sign Montpellier star Elye Wahi.
The Hammers are aiming to bolster their attack and have now shifted their focus on the 20-year-old.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who say West Ham have ‘concretely positioned’ themselves to sign the striker.
It’s further claimed David Moyes’ side are expected to submit the first offer ‘soon’ but the fee they are planning to table isn’t mentioned.
L’Equipe add the France U21 international held talks with the Blues earlier this week but they haven’t taken the necessary steps yet to sign him.
West Ham would be hoping both Eintracht Frankfurt and their London rivals drop out of the race to sign Wahi.
RMC Sport had earlier reported that Montpellier are hoping to collect €40m for the player, who scored 19 goals and registered six assists from 33 games last season.
