West Ham United are chasing Paris FC’s Moustapha Mbow ahead of the summer transfer window.
The centre-back’s performances for the Ligue 1 side have caught the attention of a few Premier League clubs.
Earlier this month, Sport Witness covered claims from France that West Ham are keen on signing him.
The same source said the defender’s camp is handling offers from the Hammers, Crystal Palace and Fulham. Liverpool didn’t send an offer but made contact with his camp.
West Ham and Crystal Palace interest backed up
Moustapha Mbow left Stade de Reims for Paris FC in July 2023, when the latter were in Ligue 2. He was a key part of their squad that helped them secure promotion to the top flight.
The Senegalese has been a regular in his first full campaign in the top division this season, with 2,986 minutes from 34 matches.
Bayer Leverkusen have the 26-year-old on their radar while several Premier League sides are keen. That’s according to Africa Foot, who reiterate Nuno Espírito Santo’s side and Crystal Palace’s interest.
West Ham United made a move to get ahead of Crystal Palace and others by submitting a €12m bid to Paris FC. Sources close to the player informed the outlet of the Hammers’ offer.
The French club are ‘not opposed’ to letting him leave in the upcoming window. They have taken note of the Premier League side’s bid but are waiting to see if his other suitors will submit offers.
West Ham are 18th, two points behind 17th placed Tottenham Hotspur, and will be relegated to the Championship if Spurs beat Everton on Sunday.
It’s not clear whether Mbow is open to joining West Ham, especially if they drop out of the Premier League.
