West Ham United have reached an agreement with OGC Nice to sign Jean-Clair Todibo on loan with an obligation to buy but haven’t convinced the player.
That’s according to journalists Sébastien Denis and Santi Aouna, who report that the French defender is determined to join Juventus.
Denis kicks things off by reporting that West Ham have reached an agreement with Nice to loan Todibo for this season and then be obligated to buy him next summer for €36m plus bonuses.
Nice are pushing the player to accept the proposal, but he only wants to join Juventus and is holding out for them to make their move.
Aouna echoes this, stating that there is an agreement between West Ham and Todibo for the loan deal and that Nice are pushing him to accept the offer to move to the London Stadium.
Todibo, though, values Juventus higher than West Ham from a sporting point of view and has given his priority to them. RMC Sport add in their two cents by insisting that Juventus have made the player a priority signing but are waiting to sell certain players before making a bid to Nice.
That, then, perhaps give West Ham the window in which to try and convince Todibo to change his mind and accept a move to London.
After all, they are there, ready to pay for him and presumably give him the wages he wants while Juventus appear to be offering much but not actually presenting anything concrete. Nor are they in a position to do so anytime soon if RMC’s information is to be believed.
