West Ham United’s Arthur Masuaku joined Beşiktaş on a loan deal with an option to buy last summer.
The left-back has made 21 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal and registering three assists in the process.
As part of the agreement with West Ham, the Turkish club have to make the 29-year-old’s loan stay permanent when he makes his 20th appearance this season.
The Black Eagles will have to pay €2.2m to the Premier League side to buy the DR Congo international. This was reported by NTV Spor last November and highlighted again now by Sabah.
According to Sabah, the Istanbul club have started negotiations with West Ham to discuss the defender’s situation.
It’s said David Moyes’ side, who have not been willing to change their stance on Masuaku until now, have ‘softened their stance’ following Beşiktaş’ ‘insistent attitude’.
The Turkish club, led by president Ahmet Nur Çebi, aim to clarify the West Ham owned player’s situation shortly.
Although Sabah state the Hammers have softened their stance, they don’t specify what they are willing to change in regards to the Masuaku deal.
