West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca has insisted he is acclimatising well to life in England following his summer move from Sassuolo.
The striker joined the Hammers in a €36m deal in the summer, with David Moyes spending big to improve his forward line and add much needed competition for Michail Antonio.
He arrived at West Ham with a growing reputation after scoring 16 goals in 38 games for Sassuolo last season and breaking into the Italy team under Roberto Mancini.
Scamacca has had something of a slow start to life in the Premier League, though, with no goals in his first five appearances in the competition.
He has managed three goals in four games in the Conference League, with strikes against Viborg and Silkeborg so far.
His lack of goals in the Premier League is a concern for West Ham, though, who have a concerning history of spending big money on strikers who end up struggling at the club.
That has often been down to a lack of adaptation, but Scamacca insists that he’s not having any struggles in that department.
“The acclimatisation is going well, the group is a quiet group, helpful, it was very easy,” Tuttomercatoweb report him saying.
“I’m getting by, now I’m also going to start studying to perfect it (his English) but I’m making myself understood.
“I like Ibrahimovic, I’m inspired by him. It’s difficult to play similar to him though.”
