West Ham have joined the race for Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto, according to reports from South America.
Goal Brasil writes that the Hammers have ‘shown interest’ in the signing, and got in touch with his staff to seek information about a potential deal.
According to the story, West Ham are still to make a bid for the transfer, but that could be done after the Conference League finals.
It’s said a potential title tonight would make the club focus on heavier investments for the next season.
Not long ago, it had also been reported by Goal Brasil that Everton were also interested in the striker, so we may be about to see a Premier League battle for this signing.
Featuring for Corinthians this season, Yuri Alberto has five goals and six assists in 27 appearances.
He was signed from Russian side Zenit in a swap in January, and it’s not yet know for how much the Brazilian club would accept selling him this summer.
Transfermarkt currently value him at €18m, so West Ham should probably get ready to pay something around that.
