If West Ham’s quest to sign picky Carlos Bacca wasn’t hard enough, then it may well have become just a little bit harder. Tuesday’s edition of Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo has the AC Milan striker on their front page, declaring him’Plan B’ for Barcelona.
Bacca had been holding off a West Ham United transfer, because he wants a team qualified for the Champions League, despite the Hammers agreeing a €30m fee with Bacca’s current club AC Milan.
Barcelona are looking for someone to play back-up to their trident of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.
The Colombian international would get his Champions League club, but may not actually get to play in it, unless there’s an injury or Luis Enrique feels a game is unimportant enough.
The Catalan club wouldn’t be looking to spend as much as West Ham, and would likely want to include at least one player in any potential deal for Bacca.
Napoli are also said to be interested, given the impending departure of Gonzalo Higuain, and it’s probably time for West Ham to move on, if they haven’t already.
