With the season edging closer to the end, it seems West Ham United are already making some moves ahead of the transfer window.

As reported by the Portuguese media, the Hammers had a scout in the league game between Porto and Santa Clara on Saturday.

It’s newspaper O Jogo who reveals the short list of clubs who visited the Estádio do Dragão, with West Ham being the only Premier League side to send an emissary there.

Still, it isn’t said who the Hammers are specifically interested in, with the story only claiming the London side are ‘attentive’ to what’s going on at Porto.

The home side won the match 2-1, and now staying only four points way from Benfica, they are starting to believe in the chances of a league title again.

West Ham haven’t really been linked to any Porto players lately, although they did scout the Dragons earlier this season.

Ironically enough, one of the best players in the match was former Hammers’ striker Toni Martinez, who left the club in 2019. He won two penalties and was very much praised by the local media.

Other Porto players who may have drawn West Ham’s attention were Mateus Uribe and Galeno.

The Colombian midfielder could turn out to be an interesting target, since his contract with the Dragons expires at the end of the season and he’s been linked to other Premier League clubs.
