On Tuesday, El Partidazo de COPE reported Atlético Madrid had reached an agreement with an unnamed Premier League side for Samu Omorodion. Later that day, El Desmarque suggested West Ham United were the ones to have made a €30m offer for the striker.
Journalist Marcos Durán took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide more on West Ham’s efforts to sign the 20-year-old in the summer window.
The La Liga side have identified Girona’s Artem Dovbyk as the main target to bolster their attack, and will need €40m to secure his services.
Los Rojiblancos have to raise funds, and Durán says they have identified Omorodion as one of their candidates.
Atlético took the player from Granada last summer and allowed him to spend the recently concluded season on loan at Deportivo Alavés. The Madrid club will only consider his sale if there’s a ‘great offer’ in the next window.
Omorodion’s current deal lasts until 2028, and Durán says Atlético will need at least €40m up front to part ways with him.
If West Ham are keen on signing Omorodion, they have to raise their offer by €11m. The journalist makes no mention of whether Julen Lopetegui’s side will return with an improved bid.
