West Ham United are keen on signing FC Metz’s Alpha Touré in the winter market.

On Friday, Wiw Sport stated the Premier League side’s substantial offer is on the way. Touré may not be able to make a huge impact for Nuno Espirito Santo right now, but he would be a squad option and one for the future.

L’Equipe report West Ham have indeed tabled a €7m offer to secure the 19-year-old’s services. Of course, that doesn’t sound quite so substantial by Premier League standards, but it is for Metz.

Touré is a favourite of Metz sporting director Frédéric Arpinon, and the latter has rejected the Hammers’ bid. On Friday, the defensive midfielder said he’s letting his agent handle his future, and the newspaper relay his comments

“I’m focused on my game and I’m letting my agent handle it,” he said.

A fresh report from Wiw Sport relays L’Equipe’s claim and covers the latest on West Ham.

West Ham not giving up on transfer

According to the outlet, the Hammers are expected to return with an improved bid in the ‘coming days’, without mention of a figure.

West Ham are 18th in the table, seven points behind 17th placed Nottingham Forest. Despite their current position, Wiw Sport claim Touré is ‘not averse’ to making a switch to the English capital.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have to act fast because Lyon, OGC Nice, Eintracht Frankfurt and Feyenoord have all expressed interest. The report claims the Dutch club have also made an offer, although there’s no details given regarding the financials.

West Ham are stronger than all of those clubs when it comes to transfer fees, although they won’t want to overpay for the youngster.

Journalist Angelo Salemi took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report Feyenoord’s bid. He claims West Ham are preparing to make a second offer to sign Touré in January.
