Forever linked with a move away from France to England, this summer could be the one that sees Gaëtan Laborde get the big move.

That’s according to Foot Mercato in France, who explain that the Montpellier striker ‘will not be kept in case of an adequate offer’, which could come from West Ham United.

The Hammers have yet to replace Sébastien Haller up top since the Frenchman was sold to Ajax last January, and while they have been linked with a number of goalscorers, none have seen a move materialise.

This could change with Laborde as both West Ham and Rennes in Ligue 1 are ‘in the running’ to sign the forward this summer.

With less than two weeks left in the transfer window, time is clearly of the essence, but as his contract expires in 2023, it seems unlikely the Montpellier player will cost that much.

No further details are given in the article, such as a price, but that will undoubtedly come soon enough if attempts are made to sign him.

Laborde, who already has two goals in two games this season, found the back of the next 16 times in 38 league games during the 2020-21 campaign.

This isn’t the first time West Ham have been linked, either, as they were touted as being interested for this summer back in May and were said to have been following him for three years last September.
