West Ham United’s Luis Guilherme will not be joining Feyenoord, with the Hammers deciding to keep him.
That’s according to 1908.nl who report that Guilherme won’t be released by West Ham after the Dutch side made an effort for him on the deadline day of their transfer window.
A report earlier today stated Feyenoord had targeted Guilherme but did not have an agreement with West Ham or the player over a move. They were exploring a late deal for him, though, with the Dutch transfer window closing today.
That same report stated an injury to Crysencio Summerville could scupper Feyenoord’s plans as West Ham may elect to keep the Brazilian youngster at the London Stadium.
1908.nl now report that West Ham decided to keep Guilherme and quote Hammers staff as saying “No, we have decided to keep him, despite the fact that there were offers” when asked about him this afternoon.
According to the website, Guilherme had multiple offers to leave today but will instead stay with West Ham for the rest of the season.
Feyenoord will then turn their attention to other options and have until this evening to further strengthen their squad.
The decision presumably brings an end to all transfers for Guilherme, who was also targeted by Porto on deadline day yesterday and has been linked with a potential return to Brazil too.
