Jean-Clair Todibo’s future at West Ham has been in doubt over the past few days. An initial approach for the defender has now been made.
The defender joined the Hammers from Nice in 2024 but it has never been smooth sailing for him in London. He played 27 times in his first season, featuring in less last season.
Under Nuno Espirito Santo, the Frenchman found himself on the bench. In the last seven Premier League games last season, he started only twice and wasn’t even called up for the final game against Leeds United.
In recent days, his situation has caught the attention of Italian clubs. Sport Witness covered Napoli’s interest earlier this week but it is AC Milan who have stepped forward.
Hammers make demands clear
Journalist Gianluca Vitale reports on the defender’s situation, clarifying that Napoli are interested. However, it’s Milan who have made a formal bid for the 26-year-old.
The exact details of their offer are unknown but West Ham want a €5m loan fee plus an obligation to buy of €24m.
Napoli, at their end, are yet to go that far. They have spoken to Todibo’s entourage but haven’t gone further.
The ex-Barcelona man is only one of the players on their shortlist. Chelsea’s Benoit Badiashile is also a target and his wage demands are expected to be similar to Todibo.
