Long-term injuries to Ousmane Dembélé and Luis Suárez forced Barcelona to sign Martin Braithwaite on February 20th.

The forward arrived at the Camp Nou from Leganés and made three appearances for his new club before football across Europe was suspended due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

According to Sport, the La Liga winners are facing a ‘dilemma’ with the Denmark international’s future. It’s claimed he’s gathering attention from elsewhere as West Ham United are ‘still interested’ in him.

However, the ongoing pandemic has paralysed the option because the Hammers want to know how their economic situation will be after the crisis ends.

The Catalan club paid €18m for Braithwaite and they will not consider letting him leave for ‘less than €18m’, between fixed and variables, to avoid losses.

The Premier League remains the ‘most interested market’ for the player and it remains to be seen if West Ham would make an approach for him in the summer.

From Italy, Torino and Sassuolo have approached Barca and Braithwaite’s environment.

Barcelona haven’t taken a decision on Braithwaite and Sport states they haven’t ruled out the possibility of the attacker continuing at the club next season.
