West Ham United have ‘recently expressed their interest’ in PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko as they continue to spend their money following the sale of Declan Rice.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who says the Hammers and one other Premier League side are keen on the 20-year-old.
He reports that Bakayoko is currently in talks with Napoli over a potential move there, but PSV have proved to be ‘intransigent’ and won’t even contemplate a potential sale.
That’s not stopped the suitors from stacking up, though, with West Ham and another unnamed Premier League side have ‘expressed their interest’ in the player this summer.
The extent of that expression of interest isn’t made clear, and there’s no mention of a bid being lodged so it seems things aren’t that advanced as yet, but Tavolieri does state that ‘it’s still going to move’.
The suggestion from him is that a deal and talk around Bakayoko is going to continue in this window despite PSV’s refusal to sell him.
Whether West Ham step up their interest and try to make a deal happens remains to be seen, but they have lodged their interest with PSV either way.
