West Ham United are about to attempt the signing of M’Bala Nzola, according to reports from Italy.
It’s newspaper Il Secolo XIX (via AS Roma Live) who today reveals the Hammers’ interest in the 26-year-old.
It’s claimed that besides attracting the interest from Serie A clubs, Nzola is also wanted by West Ham, who are ‘ready to put €20m on table’ to sign him.
That’s exactly the price that Spezia have been demanding for the sale, and that should give the Hammers a clear advantage in the race for the striker.
Back in January, it had been Torino who wanted Nzola, but the transfer was blocked by his club. Now it’s Roma who are set to try to fight West Ham for the player.
The Giallorossi currently have Eldor Shomurodov loaned out to Spezia, and according to the story, plan to use his permanent move as a way to get the striker.
But West Ham’s cash offer still sounds pretty good, so we shall wait and see which bid will Spezia prefer.
Nzola has 14 goals and three assists this season, and is protected with a contract until 2024.
