Turkish newspaper Milliyet report West Ham United are keen on signing Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida and they will soon open talks with the Super Lig club.

The Croatian defender was linked with a move to the Premier League earlier this summer following claims his former national team manager Slaven Bilic was keen to see him at West Bromwich Albion.

However, Milliyet claim that West Ham United are now interested in signing the 31 year old, and Besiktas are willing to do a deal with the London side.

It’s reported the Istanbul club are looking to offload Vida because the Croatian is the highest earner at the club.

As reported yesterday, Milliyet say Besiktas want €5m for Vida and the Black Eagles are already in the market for his replacement. Turkish journalist Safak Malatya claims they are looking to sign Adama Soumaoro from Lille if Vida signs for West Ham.

Vida’s contract at the Vodafone Park will expire at the end of June 2022.
