West Ham United’s Emerson Palmieri is in his final year of contract, with an option for another year, and his future is likely to be away from the London club.
Marseille have shown interest in the 31-year-old and Liverpool’s Konstantinos Tsimikas to strengthen their left-back position.
On Tuesday, L’Equipe reported the Ligue 1 club are in pole to secure the West Ham man’s services. They also explained the Hammers are expected to release him, allowing Marseille to sign him on a free transfer this summer.
That is unlikely to happen if RMC Sport are to be believed as they report the English club will collect a fee from the fullback’s impending move to Marseille.
It’s claimed Graham Potter’s side have ‘reached a full agreement’ with the French club for €1m including bonuses. The Brazil-born Italy international is on his way to join Roberto De Zerbi’s side, where he will sign a two-year contract, with an option for another year.
With ‘total agreement’ in place between the two clubs, Emerson has to undergo medical and carry out other formalities within 48 hours so that Marseille can announce his signing.
