Montpellier’s leadership are ‘waiting for the offer’ from West Ham United for striker Elye Wahi as the Hammers have ‘promised to outbid’ any offers made for the players.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say those in charge are waiting for West Ham to make their move as other clubs bid for the highly rated striker.
FM explain that Wahi continues to be pursued by numerous clubs across Europe this summer and Eintracht Frankfurt have gone on the attack for the 20-year-old.
Montpellier are fully expecting the player to depart at some point this summer but won’t let the player leave on the cheap by any means.
He knows there are other suitors and one of them is West Ham, who have ‘promised to outbid’ their rivals for Wahi’s signature.
The Hammers are considered the main interested party for the player as they’re seeking a replacement for Gianluca Scamacca, who has returned to Italy with Atalanta, and Montpellier are waiting for them to make a bid.
It seems the French side believe they will either offer more than Frankfurt or at least bid higher and create a bidding war to ramp up the striker’s price.
Thus they are waiting for West Ham to make their move and present a bid, which they’re yet to do but have indicated behind the scenes that they absolutely will.
