Earlier today, the English press revealed that West Ham, searching for an alternative to Jesse Lingard, had turned their attention to Nikola Vlasic.

The Croatian forward, currently at CSKA Moscow in Russia, has been a target for a couple of clubs this summer, with Milan in Serie A looking at him to replace Hakan Calhanoglu.

However, the hefty asking price was putting them off, but that doesn’t appear to be the case for West Ham, who have some cash to burn before the end of the transfer window.

Already close to spending €30m on Kurt Zouma, they appear to be happy to do the same on Vlasic, according to Italian journalist Daniele Longo.

Taking to Twitter with the information, he explained that West Ham are ‘in pole’ to sign the Croatia international, and ‘contact is planned this evening with the agent’ of the player.

Not only that, but the Hammers are ‘getting closer to the request of €30m’ put in place by the Russian side.

It looks like it could be an exciting time for West Ham fans in the next few days, and they would be bringing a player who already has an idea about what the Premier League requires, having previously been at Everton.
