West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca is expected to return from injury as early as July, in what could be both a blessing and a blow for the Hammers.
Gazzetta dello Sport report that Scamacca is one of several options being analysed by Juventus ahead of the summer, with Dusan Vlahovic expected to leave the club.
Scamacca is at the forefront of that list, despite his struggles at West Ham this year following a big money move last summer.
He’s currently out injured after picking up a meniscus injury but, according to the newspaper’s information, is set to return from that layoff after undergoing surgery ‘as early as July’.
That means he will miss the remainder of the season but will be set to return ahead of pre-season training, should West Ham decide to keep him next season.
Alternatively, he will also be ‘fresh’ for pre-season training at a new club, namely Juventus, which could prompt them to make any move to bring him to the club as early as possible.
Whether that happens remains to be seen but Scamacca is seemingly set to return from his injury layoff in time to set up an intriguing summer for him and West Ham.
