West Ham United can expect to see Lucas Paquetá back on the grass very soon, as an update from Brazil plays down claims that he has been sidelined.

Journalist Raísa Simplício reports that Paquetá is in the transition phase of his recovery. The midfielder could return to on-pitch work as early as tomorrow. It marks another step forward after his recent physical issue and points to a normal routine resuming at the club.

Even so, a place in the squad to face Sunderland still looks unlikely. Brazilian sources say his inclusion is “very difficult”, with West Ham set to act cautiously rather than rush him back.

The update also addresses rumours directly. Paquetá’s press office says reports claiming he was sidelined or frozen out by the club are false. There has been no disciplinary action and no change in how West Ham are handling his situation.

That context matters amid constant headlines in Brazil linking him with a return to Flamengo. Inside West Ham, however, the picture looks far more routine. Paquetá remains part of the group and continues his recovery as planned.

For head coach Nuno Espírito Santo, the message is Paquetá has not been ignored. He is working his way back step by step, and fitness – not transfer noise – will decide when he returns to action.
