West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca has a ‘pact’ to join Roma this summer and has given them priority as he wants to play for the ‘team he supports’.
That’s according to Gianluca di Marzio, who say the West Ham flop is determined to return to his former club and is putting them at the top of his priority list.
The journalist reports that the striker ‘wants to return’ to Rome, having played for Roma’s youth side earlier in his career before leaving for PSV in 2016.
He’s given them ‘priority’ in terms of a transfer and has made a pact with Roma director of football Tiago Pinto that he intends to honour.
That does not mean he is closing the door to a possible move to AC Milan, and they would be a ‘welcome destination’ but if it becomes a direct choice between the two clubs then he will choose Roma.
His ability to go there, though, depends on them striking a deal with West Ham, and so far, the two clubs have not been able to find one.
There are ‘margins and possibilities’ for that to happen, though, and so long as that remains the case and the negotiations are not shut down completely then Scamacca ‘will give priority’ to them.
