West Ham United are in the picture to sign Juventus’ Matias Soulé this summer.
That’s according to Wednesday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, who say West Ham have joined other clubs in the chase for the winger.
The 21-year-old starred during his loan spell at Frosinone last season, managing 11 goals and three assists from 39 matches.
This hasn’t gone unnoticed and it has also attracted interest from Leicester City and AS Roma. The two clubs would have to tussle with West Ham for the attacker.
The newspaper says the player is the ‘goose that lays the golden eggs’ as his sale can help the Turin club carry out more signings in this window.
It’s claimed Juve technical director Cristiano Giuntoli values him at €40m, which is why they have rejected the €25m plus €5m offered by the Foxes. Gazzetta state the Old Lady are ready to sell Soulé if a club were to offer €30m in a fixed fee.
Juve aren’t willing to lower their demand, also because West Ham have ‘stepped forward’ to try and sign the South American.
It remains to be seen whether the Hammers will take further steps to secure his services.
