West Ham United were one of several clubs with a scout in attendance for FC Midtjylland’s clash with Feyenoord last night.
That’s according to RTV Rijnmond and their journalists Frank Stout and Dennis van Eersel, who, via 1908.nl report that West Ham were one of nine teams to send scouts to watch the Europa League clash.
They state that places were reserved in Denmark by FC Midtjylland for West Ham, as well as the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Nice, Sassuolo and Twente.
There is no mention of who the scouts were there to watch in the game, which finished 2-2, just that they were in attendance.
An obvious candidate would be Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu, who has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and is on the radar of several clubs.
He bagged one of Feyenoord’s goals in the game, scoring from the penalty spot, while teammate Sebastien Szymanski scored the opening goal of the game.
On the other side, it’s hard to say who from Midtjylland the scouts may have been there to watch but an obvious candidate is youngster Gustav Isaksen.
He’s something of a rising talent and Tipsbladet recently suggested Manchester City may have been looking at him during a scouting trip.
That’s just pure speculation from us and them, though, but what we do know is that West Ham sent a scout out to Denmark last night, so there’s someone at Feyenoord or Midtjylland that they’re keen on.
