Last month, Het Laatste Nieuws journalist Tomas Taecke reported West Ham United had sent their scout to watch Club Brugge’s UEFA Conference League clash against PAOK in April.
Taecke made no mention of the players the Hammers were following and it may possibly be Antonio Nusa, who continues to be linked with Premier League sides, after a failed move to Brentford in January.
West Ham director Tim Steidten seems to have one or more Club Brugge players in his mind as the London club continue to send their officials to Belgium.
That’s according to Het Nieuwsblad, who say West Ham will be one of 16 clubs to have their scouts follow Club Brugge’s Conference League semi-final clash against Fiorentina later today.
The Serie A side sealed a 3-2 win over the Jupiler Pro League side in the first leg in Italy last midweek.
Het Nieuwsblad state officials from West Ham, Barcelona, AC Milan, PSV Eindhoven, Ajax and Cercle Brugge will all be in attendance at the Jan Breydel Stadium this evening, to follow some players with interest.
There’s no mention of which players the Premier League side have eyes on, but their repeated scouting trips indicate that they have someone from Club Brugge in mind.
