A couple of days ago, when Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola reported West Ham United’s bid for Corinthians youngster Wesley, he highlighted how strange it was that the bid was turned down.
The reporter pointed out it’s puzzling why the Timão president likes the winger so much, as the €15m offer should have been more than enough to sell him.
Nicola is now back with a new video explaining this case, and this time he brings the reason why West Ham’s bid was declined.
It’s said that someone told the Corinthians president that in case he held the situation up a little, an unnamed German club would show up with a €25m offer.
Nicola makes it clear he does not believe such a bid will be made, saying it now remains to be seen whether West Ham will return with their offer.
We must say we also had our doubts about Corinthians rejecting the €15m for Wesley, and that €25m amount sounds delusional. The whole story is strange and hopefully there’ll be more clarity over the next few days.
